DESCRIPTION
The handsome and bright Bill Barilko is the central character in this frame! Over five seasons, Barilko won the Stanley Cup four times in 1947, 1948, 1949, and 1951. Barilko died in August 1951 in a floatplane crash during a fishing trip to Quebec. Barilko's #5 was retired by the Leafs. His story is famously retold in the Tragically Hip song "Fifty Mission Cap" The Leafs didn’t win another cup until 1962, the year his body was found. A sad ending to such a bright player.
